The Inside Sales Representative I plays a vital role in empowering our customers by delivering outstanding service, in-depth brand knowledge, and customized solutions. This position involves qualifying leads, overseeing customer accounts within a designated region, and actively pursuing new business opportunities to meet revenue targets. As a primary point of contact, the Inside Sales Representative will build and nurture customer relationships, execute sales campaigns, and maintain data integrity within the Thorlabs CRM platform.

While this role is based in Newton, NJ, occasional travel to other Thorlabs locations may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main liaison for key accounts in the assigned region, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
  • Coordinate and qualify incoming leads to foster regional growth.
  • Identify and develop sales opportunities through proactive prospecting and research to achieve revenue objectives.
  • Maintain and update CRM data, including leads, opportunities, and sales campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate targeted sales initiatives.
  • Handle volume pricing requests and provide timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • Effectively communicate Thorlabs’ services and tailored solutions.

For Academic & Government Research:

  • Promote and manage the New Lab Program by qualifying leads and assisting with the onboarding of new accounts.
  • Enhance customer experience by providing E-Procurement solutions.
  • Work with the sales admin team to support quotes and order escalations.
  • Travel to universities and government labs for relationship development as necessary.
