Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIESFunction as a systems-level engineer to gather production requirements, then design and implement the build, integration, and validation of flight hardware. Develop and implement tooling solutions to minimize assembly errors, enhance quality, and expedite production processes. Automate innovative processes to guarantee repeatability within a large-scale production environment. Validate that subsystem work centers meet cycle time requirements, or design necessary changes to achieve target cycle times. Become an expert in the assembly of vehicle-level systems, including aero control surfaces, propellant feed systems, actuation systems, thermal protection systems, secondary structures, avionics, and primary structure, among others. Create and uphold design for manufacturing requirements for the processes utilized in constructing Starships and Super Heavy Boosters. BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. Minimum of 1 year of hands-on engineering experience (including design teams and internships). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in an engineering discipline. At least 1 year of experience with system-level acceptance testing. Over 2 years of professional experience in aerospace or mechanical engineering. More than 2 years of experience with GD&T concepts. Experience with large steel structure construction (civil, naval, or mechanical). Proven background in process development, factory layout optimization, error-proofing, and lean principles. Familiarity with Siemens NX and Teamcenter CAD software.
