Role Overview: Interior Designer

Based in Los Angeles, this Interior Designer position centers on both design and technical execution. The role involves close collaboration with project teams and leaders throughout the studio. Guidance and mentorship come from experienced project leadership, offering opportunities to grow and contribute meaningfully to a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support design teams at every stage of a project, from Programming and Schematic Design through Construction Administration.
  • Assist with selecting, laying out, and specifying furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) as needed.
  • Help develop and document interior spaces by preparing drawings such as floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and details.
  • Conduct research on products and finishes; assist in developing finish plans and specifications.
  • Gain familiarity with building and life safety codes relevant to interior design work.
  • Prepare presentation materials and digital renderings to communicate design concepts.
  • Produce drawings and provide project support in accordance with time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Follow CannonDesign’s drawing standards in all documentation.
  • Assist with selecting building materials and help maintain the studio’s Interior Design materials library.
  • Order samples and materials from vendors as required.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and exploration within the interior design profession.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by project leadership.
