We invite applications for the role of Inventory Control Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in managing our inventory operations effectively. The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring precise inventory records, refining inventory processes, and optimizing resource utilization. Strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are essential for this position. This role is office-based at our headquarters in Newburgh, IN, and does not offer remote work options.
This position reports directly to the Procurement Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular inventory audits to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established protocols.
- Maintain and update accurate records of inventory levels, encompassing quantities, locations, and movements within the company's systems.
- Reconcile physical inventory counts with system records to address discrepancies or inconsistencies.
- Work closely with procurement, warehouse, assembly, and other departments to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts or overstock situations, and ensure timely availability of products or materials.
- Establish and uphold inventory management systems, procedures, and controls to enhance operational efficiency.
- Analyze inventory data and metrics to monitor performance indicators such as turnover rates, stock aging, and shrinkage, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to forecast inventory needs based on demand forecasts, sales trends, and production schedules, planning procurement activities accordingly.
- Investigate the root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Identify opportunities to streamline inventory processes and reduce costs through best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on proper inventory management protocols.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors to coordinate inventory-related activities.
- Generate and maintain documentation and reports related to inventory activities for analysis and decision-making.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in inventory management.
