Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the production of construction document sets from design development through to permit submission and construction administration. Lead drawing coordination across multiple disciplines. Prepare and manage project schedules, drawing logs, and submittal trackers. Act as the primary liaison for consultants and contractors during documentation and construction phases. Create detailed interior architecture drawings, including reflected ceiling plans, millwork, cabinetry, kitchen and bath layouts, built-in details, and finish schedules. Develop material and finish schedules aligned with the interior design scope. Resolve design intent at the detail level. Coordinate architectural lighting design, including cove lighting.

The studio, led by two experienced architects, blends architecture, interior architecture, and interior design across projects ranging from renovations to custom new homes. With offices in Los Angeles and Northern California, the firm continues to expand its project portfolio.

Role overview

This position focuses on guiding residential projects from concept through construction. The Job Captain ensures design intent carries through to construction and permit documents, working closely with the founding partners and outside consultants. Projects vary in scale and scope, always tailored to client needs.

What you will do

  • Oversee project delivery, translating design concepts into detailed construction and permit-ready documents
  • Manage and organize drawing sets throughout all design and construction phases
  • Coordinate with consultants and maintain close collaboration with the partners
  • Participate in every stage of the project, from initial ideas to on-site execution

Requirements

  • Background in single-family residential architecture preferred
  • Strong grasp of interior architecture, including spatial planning, materials, lighting, and detailing
  • Technical ability to develop and manage construction documents
  • Comfort working collaboratively within a small, hands-on team
