Qualifications

While a Commerce degree with a focus on Accounting or Finance is advantageous, it is not mandatory.Are eligible to pursue Chartered Accountancy or CPA, though eagerness and a willingness to learn business advisory skills are equally important.Possess an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for business and numbers.Exhibit ambition, a strong work ethic, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You should also have the emotional intelligence to navigate client relationships effectively.Have no prior experience required; however, part-time roles or internships in accounting, finance, customer service, retail, or hospitality are beneficial.

Your role will involve advising business owners on overcoming challenges, offering technical accounting advice, providing virtual CFO services, and preparing financial statements and tax returns. Additionally, you'll engage in tax consulting and management accounting to support our clients' financial success.
The Business Advisory team at Deloitte consists of over 500 finance professionals spread across New Zealand. Under the leadership of seasoned Partners, we collaborate with a diverse portfolio of clients to address financial issues, streamline processes, interpret financial data, and assist privately owned businesses and families in achieving their financial goals.
Our team operates out of various Deloitte offices across New Zealand and works in close conjunction with the Tax team and other Deloitte units to ensure exemplary client service.
Your Daily Responsibilities Will Include:
- Engaging directly with clients to address complex issues and present innovative solutions and insights.
- Preparing management reports, financial statements, and tax returns, while providing technical advice on financial reporting, taxation, and operational processes.
- Enhancing your skills in cloud-based systems like Xero and Taxlab, while supporting client finance functions.
- Collaborating with internal Deloitte teams, including Tax, Strategy Risk & Transactions, and Accounting & Reporting Advisory.
