Are you a skilled and driven 3rd Line Infrastructure Technician seeking an exciting opportunity within a dynamic and expanding organization? Look no further! We invite a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to enhance our growing IT Team at our head office in Blackburn. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional support for the IT infrastructure and applications across the GAP group of companies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist with IT line of business applications
- Deliver general end-user desktop support
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Log telephone inquiries into the helpdesk system
- Resolve tickets and escalate issues as necessary
- Keep business colleagues updated on ticket status
- Serve as a knowledge source for junior team members
- Create knowledge base articles to enhance ticket resolution efficiency
- Lead IT projects aimed at achieving strategic business goals
- Work proactively to prevent unexpected outages
- Stay updated on current technologies and propose enhancements to the IT services
- Act as an inspirational role model within the team
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Cisco configuration and troubleshooting
- Ability to capture information accurately
- Understanding of fundamental networking principles
- Competence in troubleshooting IT PC issues
- Excellent MS Office skills
- Experience supporting GAP bespoke applications
- Capability to conduct in-depth investigations into application faults, including tracing error messages and potential data corrections
- Exposure to Sage X3 environments is an advantage
- Flexible problem-solving approach and ability to think on your feet
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Approachable and friendly demeanor
Person Specification:
- Proven experience working in an IT Department
- Experience in supporting complex interconnected IT systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Up-to-date knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
- Relevant IT qualification from a recognized institution is preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and investigative skills
- Able to collaborate effectively with third parties
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Familiarity with Cisco iOS
- Knowledge of VMWare
