Founded in 2010, Challenge Preparatory Charter School (Challenge Prep) is dedicated to providing an exceptional academic experience for over 1200 students from Kindergarten through 12th grade across three campuses in Far Rockaway, Queens. Our mission is to empower students from the greater Far Rockaway community to excel academically, master the New York State Learning Standards, and achieve their career dreams. We foster intellectual, aesthetic, social, emotional, and ethical growth, equipping our students to become responsible and engaged 21st-century citizens. To fulfill our mission, we offer a rigorous instructional program within a safe, supportive, and technology-rich environment. We emphasize social-emotional learning, provide authentic field experiences, and offer career counseling and college coursework. We value collaboration across our team to support all scholars effectively.
Role Overview
As a key member of our Instructional Team, you will play an essential role in helping our students build the skills and confidence necessary for their future paths—whether in college, careers, or beyond. Our educators are passionate advocates for their students and their families, working diligently to ensure access to abundant opportunities. We are particularly focused on attracting individuals who share the life experiences of our students, as we believe that understanding these realities enhances our educational impact. In this role as a General Education Teacher, you will deliver outstanding instruction, assess student growth, and actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning. You will provide both academic and cultural support to your school and collaborate closely with your team. This position reports directly to the principal.
