5 Axis CNC Miller - What does the role involve?
As a 5 Axis CNC Miller, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-value components for various industries. This role requires strict adherence to job card instructions, stage drawings, and customer specifications while ensuring compliance with the company’s quality system.
Working Hours: 39 hours per week.
Core Shift: Monday to Thursday from 6:45 AM to 3:30 PM, and Friday from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines (3, 4 & 5 axis) in accordance with setup sheets.
- Utilize effective methods, tooling, and fixtures to achieve high-quality, cost-effective products as per production requirements.
- Analyze program blueprints to determine machine operations and dimensions.
- Collaborate with the support team to develop standard work for new or modified products being introduced.
- Assist in relocating existing machining processes to optimize production.
- Train and mentor team members on machining processes.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure quality control and seek continuous improvement.
- Leverage DNC networking to ensure seamless command transmission from computer servers to CNC modules.
- Accurately measure workpieces and gauges for production quality.
- Conduct daily maintenance to uphold machine condition.
- Independently operate one or more machines.
- Produce and update procedure and process setup sheets.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Interpret technical drawings with a robust understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Adhere strictly to quality and safety standards.
- Ensure all tasks are performed safely and in alignment with company safety policies.
