The GTM team comprises professionals from Sales, Solutions, Support, Marketing, and Partnerships, all working in unison to create innovative solutions that expand the reach of AI technology.
About the Position
In the role of Account Director, specializing in Healthcare & Life Sciences, you will cultivate and manage high-level relationships with prominent healthcare and life sciences organizations, including top-tier pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, and contract research organizations. Your mission will be to assist these entities in the safe and efficient deployment of OpenAI’s technologies to revolutionize research and development, automate documentation processes, streamline regulatory workflows, and enhance engagement with patients and providers.
This position requires a blend of scientific knowledge, technical expertise, business insight, and relationship-driven sales skills. You will work closely with researchers, engineers, and healthcare solution strategists to develop secure, compliant, and impactful AI deployments.
This role is based in San Francisco and follows a hybrid work model, with three days required in the office each week. We also offer relocation assistance for new hires.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee a select portfolio of healthcare and life sciences accounts, formulating long-term strategic account plans
Navigate complex sales cycles that involve multiple stakeholders across R&D, medical, regulatory, and commercial domains
Collaborate with solutions and research engineers to design pilot projects that showcase tangible business and scientific results
Engage with compliance, privacy, and security teams to guarantee responsible AI deployment in regulated environments
Achieve revenue and consumption targets while managing forecasts and pipeline reports
Stay abreast of industry and regulatory trends (FDA, EMA, etc.) to inform customer and product strategies
Represent OpenAI at industry conferences and thought leadership events, such as HLTH and JPM
Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives
