About The Role
We are in search of a detail-oriented and self-motivated Accounting Manager to join our Finance & Accounting team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will oversee the entire accounting function, managing everything from close sequencing and balance sheet integrity to process enhancement and system optimization. This role requires a high degree of independence, serving as a crucial multiplier for our lean, automation-focused accounting team.
This position is not suited for someone who requires continuous guidance; it is designed for a proactive individual who identifies needs, takes initiative, and continuously seeks improvement.
This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco office, currently requiring in-office attendance three days a week, with potential adjustments in the future.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the monthly close process from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery through effective sequencing and prioritization.
- Utilize AI tools responsibly to enhance efficiency, expedite closing activities, and minimize manual effort—keeping abreast of emerging accounting and finance technologies.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for all balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure balance sheet accuracy by proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies prior to closing.
- Manage prepaid expense schedules, fixed asset registers, accruals, and various recurring closing tasks.
- Supervise accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and vendor management.
