Join our dynamic Finance team as an Accounts Receivable Officer within the transport and logistics sector. We are seeking a meticulous and proactive individual who will oversee the entire accounts receivable cycle, ensuring prompt collections and the integrity of customer account records. This role also involves supporting cash management, payroll tasks, and accounts payable functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR) Duties
- Oversee the complete Accounts Receivable process, guaranteeing timely and accurate processing of debtor transactions.
- Manage debtor communications through various channels, addressing inquiries efficiently.
- Track outstanding receivables and engage customers to ensure timely payments in compliance with trading terms.
- Create and distribute customer statements, credit notes, and related documentation.
- Accurately process and allocate customer receipts in the accounting system (Translogix or equivalent).
- Conduct credit assessments and manage new account applications in alignment with company policies.
- Maintain precise and current debtor records within the accounting system.
- Support cash management activities, including daily reconciliation statements and petty cash reconciliations.
- Assist in general ledger data entry as instructed by the Accountant.
- Provide backup assistance for Accounts Payable as necessary, encompassing creditor data entry, coding, purchase order processing, and electronic payment preparations.
Administration, Payroll & Workplace Safety
- Assist with payroll administration by:
- Inputting weekly and monthly payroll data.
- Preparing and importing wage and superannuation journals.
- Calculating salary updates and terminations as required.
- Offer general administrative support to the Finance Department and the senior leadership team as needed.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all assigned tasks.
