Qualifications
Ideal candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding of child development, encompassing physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional needs. Familiarity with the Care and Assisted Living Act is essential. Strong communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and leadership skills are required. Candidates should exhibit sound judgment, ethical decision-making abilities, and the capacity to remain composed under pressure and when juggling conflicting priorities.Furthermore, applicants must possess a minimum of 20 hours of responsible adult training and hold a standard first aid certificate with CPR. Additional qualifications such as university education, BCRPA High Five Certification, and NCCP will be considered assets. Comfort with swimming, skating, and general recreational activities for children is also essential. A vulnerable sector criminal record check is required as a condition of employment. As this is a Fraser Health Licensed program, all candidates must meet the necessary health and safety standards.
