Qualifications
A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 1-2 years with a Master's degree; the position may be classified as either grade 13 or 15 based on education and experience.Hands-on experience in chromatographic analytical chemistry is essential, ideally gained in a GMP or quality control laboratory setting.Proficiency in HPLC and GMP documentation is required; familiarity with GC and/or Mass Spectrometry is highly desirable.Experience in method development and validation is preferred.Instrument troubleshooting experience is a plus.Must demonstrate a strong aptitude for learning, a keen interest in analytical chemistry, and hands-on experience with laboratory-scale analytical equipment and instrumentation.Willingness to work flexible hours, including 10-20% off-shift work (evenings, early mornings, or weekends) is necessary.Must be adaptable and flexible to changing priorities and demands.

This team engages during the discovery phase and continues to provide analytical expertise as projects transition into late-stage development. Our responsibilities encompass comprehensive analytical method development, validation, and testing throughout the project lifecycle, addressing various project-specific challenges.
We are on the lookout for a driven and skilled individual with a strong foundation in analytical chemistry to join our Pilot Plant Analytical Flex Team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the development and validation of analytical methods, supporting active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) campaigns, and managing the testing of large sample volumes while collaborating closely with Pilot Plant clients. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor and guide junior analysts within the team.
The Pilot Plant Flex Team operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing analytical services and support for AbbVie’s pilot plants located in Lake County. Team members collaborate across our North Chicago and Abbott Park facilities.
