The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) is a pivotal leadership role aimed at nurturing the future Bakery Operations Managers. As an ABOM, you will operate at a level closely mirroring that of a Bakery Operations Manager (BOM), executing bakery operations with a sense of urgency, precision, and accountability while honing the leadership skills necessary for independent bakery management.
This position merges hands-on operational excellence with talent development, administrative oversight, and team leadership. ABOMs serve as a vital extension of the BOM, demonstrating the capability to assume full ownership of the bakery when required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Execution
• Manage all core bakery operations, including inventory rotation, scheduling, staffing coordination, and administrative checklists.
• Ensure strict adherence to product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience standards.
• Assist with ordering, maintaining inventory accuracy, and implementing shrink control measures.
• Aid in the creation of schedules and execution of labor to meet operational goals.
Talent & Team Development
• Participate in the recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new staff.
• Provide consistent coaching and real-time performance feedback.
• Foster accountability among team members while promoting a culture of growth and development.
• Ensure onboarding and training programs are executed in line with company standards.
Leadership & Ownership
• Operate bakery management independently in the absence of the BOM.
• Exemplify urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Collaborate with the BOM and regional leadership to identify operational gaps and devise effective solutions.
• Ensure continuity of operations during leadership transitions or staffing shortages.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• 1+ year of leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations.
• Strong operational discipline and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to coach and develop hourly team members.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Capable of performing all bakery roles during peak business periods.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
