The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) serves as a key role within our leadership development program, aimed at cultivating the next generation of Bakery Operations Managers. In this position, ABOMs are expected to operate at a level comparable to the Bakery Operations Manager (BOM), diligently executing bakery operations with a focus on urgency, precision, and accountability while honing the leadership skills necessary to autonomously manage a bakery.
This multifaceted role combines hands-on operational efficiency with talent development, administrative responsibilities, and team leadership. Acting as a vital extension of the BOM, ABOMs must be prepared to assume full bakery ownership whenever necessary. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Execution
• Oversee all essential bakery operations, including inventory management, scheduling, staffing coordination, and administrative tasks.
• Uphold rigorous standards for product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest satisfaction.
• Assist with ordering processes, ensure inventory accuracy, and manage shrink control.
• Collaborate on schedule creation and labor execution to achieve operational goals.
Talent & Team Development
• Support the recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training processes for new team members.
• Provide consistent coaching and timely performance feedback.
• Hold team members accountable to established standards while fostering a culture of growth and development.
• Ensure that onboarding and training initiatives are delivered according to company guidelines.
Leadership & Ownership
• Independently manage bakery operations in the absence of the BOM.
• Exemplify urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Collaborate with the BOM and Area leadership to identify operational deficiencies and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure continuity of operations during transitions in leadership or staffing shortages.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations.
• Strong operational discipline and a keen attention to detail.
• Proven ability to coach and develop hourly team members.
• Comfortable thriving in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Capable of performing all bakery roles during peak business periods.
