Position Overview:
The Assistant Delivery Manager plays a crucial role in orchestrating the daily delivery operations, ensuring services are executed timely, accurately, and with the highest quality. This position aids in guiding the delivery team, overseeing routes and performance metrics, adhering to safety and DOT standards, and addressing escalated customer and operational challenges. Your contributions will enhance operational efficiency, cultivate team development, and elevate customer satisfaction in our final mile delivery operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in strategizing and coordinating daily delivery schedules for optimal efficiency.
- Supervise delivery routes, addressing any delays or complications swiftly.
- Support the Final Mile Director in inspiring and leading the delivery team.
- Ensure team adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and customer service benchmarks.
- Professionally manage escalated customer inquiries and resolve delivery-related challenges.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction levels through proactive communication and effective problem-solving.
- Verify that all deliveries comply with company standards for accuracy and condition.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure they are well-maintained.
- Assist in tracking deliveries, returns, and inventory management.
- Keep meticulous records of delivery performance and incidents.
- Support onboarding and training for new delivery staff on procedures and safety protocols.
- Provide continuous coaching to enhance service efficiency and quality.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Promptly report and address any safety hazards or compliance issues.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates and customer feedback.
