Position Overview:
As the Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Sbarro, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our restaurant, collaborating closely with the General Manager. You will oversee staff supervision, uphold operational standards, and ensure that our customers receive outstanding service. Key responsibilities include inventory management, food safety compliance, and driving sales to achieve business goals. In the absence of the General Manager, the AGM will take charge of the store, embodying leadership and setting an example for the team.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist the General Manager in managing all aspects of restaurant operations.
- Participate in the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of team members.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and minimize waste effectively.
- Uphold exceptional food quality, cleanliness, and customer service standards.
- Address and resolve customer complaints with professionalism and care.
- Help manage labor and food costs, ensuring they remain within budget.
- Ensure proper cash handling and banking procedures are consistently followed.
- Foster a positive and productive workplace culture.
- Proactively identify and address operational challenges.
- Step into the General Manager role as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or restaurant management training is preferred.
- 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience in the food service industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and basic financial principles.
- Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office is advantageous.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
