Our party prioritizes workers over corporate interests and advocates for people over the powerful.ABOUT THIS ROLEThe Director of Engineering will serve as the technical cornerstone of the Working Families Power and Working Families Party's data and engineering operations. This pivotal role encompasses the entire range of integrated data systems—ranging from cloud infrastructure and data pipelines to internal web applications and workflow automations—as well as managing a dedicated team of engineers.This position will lead the architecture, engineering, and strategic development of our proprietary internal voter file tool, Votivate. As part of a six-person Data, Analytics, Technology, and Engineering team, the Director will enhance our data and technology utilization to bolster organizing efforts, campaign strategies, and everyday operations. Responsibilities include optimizing core systems, resolving bottlenecks, and streamlining processes to empower staff in their roles.The Director will oversee data movement and storage systems, ensure seamless tool integration, and uphold reliable processes for technology development and maintenance. By providing clear and actionable data and analysis, the Director will aid the organization in making informed decisions. They will also assist staff in effectively using essential tools, improving documentation, and ensuring long-term system maintenance.This is a hands-on role that balances strategic oversight with direct coding responsibilities, allowing the Director to actively contribute to engineering tasks while being the primary technical liaison for non-engineering staff across the organization. A key aspect of this position involves translating the needs of organizers and campaign teams into well-defined engineering tasks.
