Job Description
In the role of Assistant Engineer on the Rail Structures team at Olsson, you will engage in various engineering tasks that enhance your technical skills and exposure to industry standards, tools, and collaborative teamwork. This entry-level position plays a key role in developing innovative, high-quality design solutions that tackle real-world engineering challenges, particularly in the railroad sector.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in project design elements using industry-standard techniques and procedures.
- Execute entry-level plan production with clear guidelines.
- Gain hands-on experience with design and modeling software.
- Support senior engineers with project timelines and technical calculations.
- Contribute to specific segments of broader projects under direct mentorship.
- Research and compile data for technical reports.
- Mentor student interns by providing guidance on routine assignments.
- Travel to project sites and work in varying terrain and weather conditions throughout different construction phases.
