We are actively searching for an experienced Associate Director of Security Design to join our esteemed Security and Technology Engineering team at AECOM. This is an exceptional opportunity to significantly contribute to groundbreaking construction projects across major cities in Europe and beyond.
The AECOM Security & Technology Engineering team is a specialized unit within the Building Engineering division, dedicated to providing expert security and technology design and support services that enhance the overall design processes of our building engineering teams.
Our Building Engineering team comprises approximately 400 engineers who engage in large-scale construction projects, focusing on niche areas in London and globally. We serve various sectors, including major commercial builds and fit-out projects, large mixed-use developments, critical national infrastructure (CNI), and more.
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will oversee advanced technical and strategic security engineering services for new construction and fit-out projects, guiding them through the RIBA stages. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive risk assessments, devising mitigation strategies, and drafting operational requirements.
- Leading master planning initiatives for projects spanning from city-level planning to mixed-use developments.
- Designing robust physical security measures, including electronic locking systems, walling, glazing, doors, barriers, and fencing.
- Creating electronic security solutions for video surveillance, access control, intruder detection, and intercom systems.
- Offering counter-terrorism consultation, including guidance on Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM), bomb blast resistance, and ballistic considerations (in collaboration with specialists).
