Purpose
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Audio Engineering Specialist to take on a consultancy role for AI training data projects, collaborating with top-tier AI model creators and enterprises. Your primary responsibility will be to establish success benchmarks, evaluate outputs, and provide strategic advice to enhance quality and efficiency. Your contributions will be pivotal in the successful delivery of annotated datasets that adhere to the highest technical specifications. You will work on specific projects with well-defined objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
Core Responsibilities
Quality Assurance, Standard Setting, and Process Enhancement
- Establish domain-specific quality benchmarks (e.g., 48 kHz sample rate, 24-bit depth, mono per talent, uncompressed WAV/Linear PCM).
- Create project-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality assurance rubrics, and reference materials to meet client technical expectations.
- Assess project outputs (recordings, annotations) against established technical standards, identifying and rectifying defects prior to client submission.
- Conduct regular quality assurance checks on daily/weekly outputs; swiftly identify, document, and resolve defects to meet deadlines.
- Return files to contractors with detailed remediation instructions.
- Offer expert advice on recording techniques, microphone specifications, and room acoustics to achieve quality standards.
- Manage specification changes and unique scenarios, such as evaluating new client codec/format requests, while drafting acceptance criteria and potential solutions.
- Develop a library of exemplary 'gold standard' audio clips to guide the team and assess quality against agreed references.
Talent Assessment and Output Enhancement
- Engage in the evaluation and selection of technical contractor talent for various projects.
- Review sample works from contractors and provide actionable, written feedback to enhance output quality.
- Design targeted training resources focusing on mic techniques, gain staging, room acoustics, and noise reduction strategies.
Project Support and Delivery
- Provide technical insights and requirements during the initial project setup stage.
- Deliver expert guidance on complex cases, technical exceptions, and changes in specifications.
- Participate in post-project evaluations to document lessons learned and refine future processes.
- Summarize client model observations and insights for internal documentation.
- Create dashboards or tracking tools to categorize defects and identify trends that enhance project outcomes.
- Conduct post-mortem analyses, exploring defect patterns, and recommend process improvements.
