Your Role:
As the Automated Press Operator, you will play a pivotal role in monitoring up to 1,000-ton automatic presses to ensure that quality stampings are produced in compliance with Challenge Manufacturing's Quality Standards, production orders, and engineering specifications. You will conduct essential quality checks, document findings in our PLEX ERP system, and perform general utility tasks to meet production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that both the department and plant fulfill daily and weekly production goals.
- Utilize production orders in PLEX to stamp products according to the Job Element Sheet (JES).
- Select and load the appropriate coils into the stamping press to produce high-quality stampings.
- Regularly lift, move, pull, push, and position products and materials weighing up to xx pounds, with assistance for heavier items, throughout your designated work area. Press operations require frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting.
- Choose the correct rack or bin for packing parts and/or storing them for subsequent processes.
- Accurately pack parts into designated containers following packaging guidelines to meet customer specifications. Ensure compliance with labeling requirements using a personal computer (PC), PLEX system, keyboard, and mouse.
- Complete online work center and operator inspection sheets to verify process stability and adherence to visual inspection and gauge requirements.
