Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:Design and develop BAW filters from concept to production, covering specification definition, simulation, characterization, and performance optimization.Conduct advanced EM simulations with tools like HFSS, ADS, or COMSOL to model BAW filter performance and ensure manufacturability.Engineer RF modules that integrate BAW filters, focusing on layout, packaging, and synergy with other RF components such as amplifiers and antennas.Optimize filter performance based on metrics like insertion loss, return loss, and bandwidth while adhering to size and cost parameters.Collaborate closely with process engineers and system architects for seamless integration within larger RF systems.Develop comprehensive test plans, execute RF measurements, and validate performance using high-end tools like network and spectrum analyzers.Prepare detailed design reports and technical documentation to support design reviews and production handoff.Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to continually enhance design methodologies.
About the job
At SpaceX, we believe that a future where humanity explores the cosmos is more exhilarating than one where we remain Earth-bound. We are at the forefront of developing groundbreaking technologies aimed at making interplanetary human life a reality.
Join Us as a BAW Filter Design Engineer (Starlink/Akoustis)
As a proud subsidiary of SpaceX, Akoustis is leading the charge in RF filter technology with our patented XBAW technology. Our mission is to facilitate multi-planetary human existence and enhance global connectivity through Starlink. We design, build, and operate the most extensive satellite constellation, providing a global internet network unrestricted by conventional ground infrastructure. Our success is rooted in our commitment to in-house engineering and production, allowing us to maintain a fast-paced, innovative environment. With millions of users already benefiting from Starlink, we are redefining connectivity and empowering those previously unconnected.
XBAW technology employs a MEMS-based thin film transfer process, enabling diverse piezoelectric material synthesis and compositions tailored for specific applications, ensuring superior resonator performance and enhanced material properties.
