The Academy for Young Minds (AYM), powered by Gersh Autism, is on the lookout for a dedicated Behavior Technician (Paraprofessional) to join our exceptional team in a state-of-the-art classroom located in Long Island City, Queens. AYM is a premier private school catering to learners on the Autism Spectrum, aged 5-15, with class sizes ranging from 6-10 students. This role is a full-time position, following a 12-month school calendar.
Join us in this fulfilling opportunity if you are passionate about positively impacting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As a Behavior Technician, you will directly assist students, providing both academic and behavioral support to help them reach their individualized goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the classroom teacher in executing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with autism.
Assist in documenting students' progress and behavior, providing feedback to ensure effective strategies are employed.
Implement engaging learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
