Position Overview
As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will play a pivotal role in the residential treatment environment, supporting adolescent clients as they navigate their recovery journey. You will lead engaging activities that assist residents in adapting to a communal living environment and equip them with essential skills to manage their eating disorders effectively. Your contributions are vital to enhancing the daily experiences of our clients.
Work Schedule
- Full-Time (0.8 FTE, 32 hours per week) with Evening and Overnight shifts
- Evening Shifts: 2 PM - 10:30 PM and 4 PM - 12:30 AM
- Overnight Shifts: 10 PM - 6:30 AM and 12 AM - 8:30 AM
- Every other weekend is required (Saturday & Sunday)
Compensation Disclosure
- BHT I: Starting hourly rate ranges from $18.00 to $21.00
Final compensation will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
How Behavioral Health Technicians Empower Recovery
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement care plans, assist with admissions, and support clients in programming.
- Engage in therapeutic meals and snacks, providing assistance during structured activities and recreation.
- Be available to encourage, challenge, and support residents as needed; document and report observations accurately.
- Monitor and facilitate bathroom use as per treatment directives; oversee and document exercise activities.
- Uphold appropriate policies with residents and ensure timely completion of all responsibilities, including hourly room checks.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• An Associate's degree in a mental health-related field (such as mental or behavioral health, counseling, or behavioral sciences) is required to meet Minnesota Department of Human Services licensure standards for the Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker classification.
Or
• A high school diploma coupled with at least one year (2,000 hours) of direct patient care experience in a mental health setting.
