Position Overview
The Billing Compliance Analyst is vital to our billing operations, ensuring precision and adherence to client outside counsel guidelines (OCG) concerning time entry procedures. This role encompasses reviewing time entries throughout the month, pinpointing non-compliant submissions, and implementing necessary modifications to meet client specifications. The ideal candidate will leverage technology-driven solutions, including AI, to streamline billing processes and enhance timekeeping practices, alleviating administrative burdens on our legal team. This position demands a detail-oriented, highly organized individual capable of juggling numerous priorities in a fast-paced legal setting. Additionally, the Billing Compliance Analyst will assist the Senior Compliance Manager with various ad hoc requests and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement scalable solutions to consistently address compliance challenges, utilizing technology and AI where applicable.
- Analyze attorney and staff time entries before proforma generation to ensure compliance with firm and client standards.
- Identify and rectify non-compliant entries, such as block billing or vague narratives, ensuring all submissions adhere to client-specific expectations.
- Revise time entry narratives to align with client billing requirements and firm policies.
- Lead initiatives to enhance timekeeping practices by providing constructive feedback and creating training programs for timekeepers.
- Organize and facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to assess, propose, and refine best practices for time entries based on data analysis.
- Mentor junior employees in conducting effective time entry reviews.
- Support the billing team through advanced reporting and matter setup.
- Collaborate with billing coordinators, administrative assistants, and finance management to ensure timely and accurate billing.
