About the job
- Efficiently set up, adjust, and operate a range of auxiliary binding machines equipped with multiple cutting heads and control features, including inkjet and mailing devices, case making and decorating equipment, folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, and binding/gluing machines.
- Establish and manage automatic bindery machines comprising various functions and capabilities (such as power paper cutters, collators, gatherers, folders, and speed binders) which integrate electromechanically with other equipment to form a comprehensive bindery and finishing unit that transforms printed sheets into final products like books, catalogs, manuals, directories, and magazines.
- Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify and mitigate safety risks.
- Operate automatic adhesive binding machines (perfect binders) equipped with a series of interconnected processing stations that handle collated sheets or signatures, performing tasks such as vibrating, milling, roughening, gluing, covering, and delivering or stacking finished books, magazines, or catalogs.
- Make necessary adjustments to synchronize the various workstations on a single machine effectively.
- Lead the production crew through all aspects of the bindery process.
- Monitor product quality, output, and overall productivity.
