About the job
We invite you to submit your CV in English, along with your proficiency level in the language.
Mindrift specializes in connecting skilled professionals with project-based opportunities in artificial intelligence for top technology companies, focusing on the assessment, evaluation, and enhancement of AI systems. Please note that this is a project-based opportunity rather than a permanent position.
Opportunity Overview
Each project presents distinct tasks, and contributors may be required to:
- Craft original computational biology challenges that reflect authentic biological research workflows;
- Develop problems necessitating Python programming for resolution (utilizing libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, BioPython);
- Ensure that challenges are computationally intensive and cannot be manually solved within a reasonable timeframe (days or weeks);
- Create problems that involve complex reasoning chains across bioinformatics, systems biology, and molecular modeling;
- Base tasks on genuine research dilemmas or applicable scenarios from biological practice;
- Validate solutions through Python using standard computational biology libraries;
- Clearly document problem statements and provide verified correct responses.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is tailored for biology experts proficient in Python, seeking part-time, non-permanent engagements. Candidates should ideally possess:
- A degree in Biology or a related discipline;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata, or any programming language can be considered equivalent;
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching settings;
- Experience analyzing biological data and developing algorithms;
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and computational approaches;
- Strong command of written English (C1 level or higher).
Process Overview
Apply → Pass qualifications → Engage in a project → Complete designated tasks → Get compensated
Project Time Commitment
During active phases, tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week, depending on project needs. This estimate is not a guaranteed workload and applies only during the project's active periods.
Compensation
Contributors can earn up to $76 per hour, contingent on their level of contribution and efficiency. Compensation may vary between projects based on their scope, complexity, and expertise required. Please be aware that other projects on the platform may present different earning opportunities based on their specific requirements.
