Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the body shop manager or foreman to review repair cost estimates.
- Assess whether repairs or replacements of parts such as bumpers, fenders, and doors are more feasible.
- Determine the practicality of repair in relation to the vehicle's market value prior to the accident.
- Prepare insurance documents detailing repair cost estimates and recommendations.
- Estimate the costs associated with repainting, modifications for special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.
- Communicate findings and address inquiries from colleagues, clients, and customers.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of relevant estimator experience is required.
- Ability to manage a high volume of estimator requests under time constraints.
- Proficient in interpreting documents such as safety guidelines and operational manuals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High initiative and a collaborative team player.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office; computer literacy including software and internet skills, along with general math abilities.
- Prior experience in the estimating, body shop, or automotive field, especially with insurance companies, is a significant advantage.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening, and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Maintain a professional appearance in line with body shop dress code policies.
- Familiarity with estimating software is preferred.
