At Euromonitor International, we pride ourselves on our established presence in Japan, serving a diverse clientele across various sectors. Our Corporate Sales team is segmented into three primary areas: New Business, Growth, and Key Accounts. The Account Manager (AM) plays an essential role in Growth and Key Accounts, managing a portfolio of existing clients within the consumer products industry. The AM is tasked with securing contract renewals, driving revenue growth, and deeply integrating Passport—our flagship product—into client operations.
Our goal is to cultivate client relationships where Passport is viewed as an indispensable strategic tool, thus ensuring renewals while expanding revenue through a growing network of contacts and a comprehensive understanding of client organization, strategies, and priorities. AMs are expected to enhance the value of our current partnerships by further embedding our data and analyses with both existing and prospective users.
By grasping the motivations behind client usage of our information, AMs will recommend tailored services that may include subscription expansions or engagement with our consulting team. Additionally, AMs should consistently seek out revenue opportunities hidden within client inquiries.
Revenue Channels
- Annual price increases on renewals.
- Growth from syndicated upselling—AMs should actively pursue the complete Passport upsell strategy.
- Monetizing account management through charges for analyst support (e.g., extractions, presentations, claim letters).
- Promoting custom research capabilities to all clients.
The ideal candidate will be confident, proactive, disciplined, and eager to collaborate closely with clients and colleagues to drive our commercial agenda.
Key Responsibilities
The Account Manager will primarily oversee existing Passport subscribers among leading players in Japan's FMCG sector. Specific expectations include:
- Securing contract renewals and driving revenue growth for each client.
- Developing strong client relationships.
- Understanding the client's organizational structure, strategic goals, and priorities to:
• Expand the network of users,
• Increase usage,
• Effectively communicate the benefits of Passport and Euromonitor’s methodologies,
• Establish Passport as a must-have resource,
• Foster partnership-oriented relationships.
- Conduct user training sessions in person or via online demonstrations.
- Provide expert research support to all clients, leveraging a detailed understanding of Euromonitor's product offerings and research methodologies.
- Encourage information sharing to enhance data quality in Passport.
- Collaborate with colleagues across research and various offices.
