Position Overview:
As a Calibration and First Article Inspection (FAI) Technician, you will play a crucial role in executing calibration and FAI activities, which include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive inspections, tests, and calibrations of Inspection, Measurement, and Test Equipment (IMTE).
• Utilize, maintain, and repair IMTE in compliance with quality standards.
• Ensure IMTE is calibrated according to specifications and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot inquiries and failures related to IMTE.
• Guarantee that staff has the necessary IMTE and supplies for their operations.
• Maintain accurate records of IMTE calibrations and daily activities.
• Analyze calibration data to detect issues or trends.
• Stay updated on industry practices and standards concerning calibration.
• Interpret blueprints.
• Execute First Article Inspections (FAI) as required.
• Prepare FAI Reports (FAIR) as assigned.
• Maintain records pertinent to the FAI process.
• Provide FAI status updates to the team.
• Demonstrate good communication skills and collaborate with other departments.
• Undertake additional duties as directed by the Manager.
Required Qualifications:
• Extensive troubleshooting expertise with IMTE.
• Knowledge of IMTE maintenance requirements.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and AS9102 (Aerospace FAI) standards.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• An engineering degree or technical certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a calibration technician.
• Experience in performing multiple multi-level Bill of Materials (BOM) and assembly-based FAIs with various subassemblies/components.
Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements:
Physical Demands: Activities include sitting, standing, and manual dexterity. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
