Join Catch22 as a Career Coach in Norwich, where you'll play a vital role in our community by engaging in a new national green skills and employability initiative funded by Shell. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will collaborate with a dedicated employability team to guide service users toward apprenticeships, employment, education, and training opportunities, paving their way into Net Zero Careers.
About You
- You are an accomplished Career Coach with experience in local communities, supporting service users in their journey toward apprenticeships, employment, education, and training.
- You possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with referral partners, customers, training providers, employers, and participants.
- Approachable, adaptable, and supportive, you effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders involved in this program.
- Your positive and enthusiastic attitude towards problem-solving empowers participants to overcome challenges.
- With excellent organizational, administrative, and prioritization skills, you can meet deadlines, produce reports, and achieve objectives efficiently.
Main Duties and Accountabilities
- Conducting participant inductions, assessments, and onboarding, while delivering high-quality information, advice, and guidance.
- Fostering participants' mindset, emotional intelligence, self-confidence, and self-esteem to prepare them for success in the workforce.
- Assisting participants in preparing CVs, cover letters, and job/apprenticeship applications, as well as conducting job searches using relevant online tools.
- Shortlisting, pre-selecting, and matching participants with job vacancies and work experience opportunities generated by the Catch22 account management team, while preparing job packs for specific roles.
- Introducing participants to a 'strength-based' recruitment approach for job interviews, ensuring they are well-prepared and arranging interviews with employers as necessary.
- Maintaining regular contact with participants to ensure they sustain their employment or apprenticeships, providing high-quality In Work Support for a minimum of six months.
- Supporting the organization and delivery of Job Fairs, Workshops, and Seminars, both in-person and virtually, to prepare participants for their careers.
