The Healthy Homes Office of Mold Assessment and Remediation (OMAR) is looking for skilled Carpenters to be part of the Enhanced Oversight Program Plus (EOP Plus). This initiative focuses on tackling mold and leak repair backlogs. As a member of a dynamic team of over 30 professionals, including Bricklayers, Carpenters, Painters, and Plumbers, you will make a tangible impact by addressing work orders that have remained unresolved for over 100 days, thereby improving response times and the living conditions for residents.
In this role, your carpentry skills will be essential in swiftly addressing crucial mold and leak repairs. You will work at various locations across the city, where your efforts will directly enhance site maintenance and the overall quality of life for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and effectively remove mold and leak-damaged materials, including drywall and insulation, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Inspect and replace water-damaged framing and studs that cannot be salvaged.
- Measure, cut, and install new mold-resistant drywall in high-moisture areas, securing it properly to studs.
- Repair and replace shelving, cabinets, doors, and ceilings; install new cabinets as needed.
- Install tub enclosures, grab bars, and perform tile installation and repairs.
- Install baseboards, crown molding, door casing, and window trim to complete room finishes.
- Repair and replace doors and associated hardware; address floor and bathroom tile repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols, especially when dealing with mold and hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
