Required QualificationsFor MLT:Graduate of an Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire.Licensure with the North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice required within 45 days of hire or transfer.For MLS:Graduate of a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent.MLT (ASCP) certified with additional coursework and two years of lab experience, or directly certified as an MLS (ASCP).Certification required within one year of hire and licensure within 45 days of hire or transfer.
About the job
This role encompasses both Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) and Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS). As an MLT, you will conduct and interpret a variety of laboratory tests across all complexity levels, as designated by CLIA, supporting the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of patients of all ages. Your responsibilities will include problem-solving for complex challenges, engaging in Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities, and maintaining laboratory instruments. Phlebotomy and customer service will also be integral parts of your role.
As an MLS, you will not only perform and report on laboratory tests but also interpret and correlate results with clinical conditions. This position requires advanced problem-solving skills, participation in quality monitoring, and potential involvement in research and educational initiatives.
