As a Casual Operator, your primary responsibility will be to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery within our facilities. You will also assist in maintaining the overall efficiency of REAL’s facilities, including tasks such as snow removal, sanding of roads and lots, floor maintenance, and upkeep of soccer turf.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely and efficiently operate all mobile and heavy equipment in compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures:
- Conduct daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Perform routine pre- and post-operational inspections on vehicles and ancillary equipment, including refueling and oil checks.
- Ensure secure storage of heavy equipment in designated areas.
Utilize heavy equipment properly to mitigate risks associated with injury, property damage, or loss of life:
- Operate dump trucks and front-end loaders for loading and unloading materials such as dirt, sand, snow, and gravel.
- Connect trucks to trailers and secure attachments using hitch pins.
- Organize and secure materials in storage.
Assist with general labor duties, including:
- Setting up and dismantling equipment for events as directed by planners or supervisors.
- Providing guidance on occupational health and safety to fellow laborers.
Deliver services in a professional, respectful, and positive manner while interacting with both internal and external customers:
- Actively listen and inquire about how to better meet customer needs.
- Address all requests promptly.
- Ensure customers feel welcomed through friendly engagement and anticipation of their needs.
- Maintain security and safety measures within the facility.
Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
**This is a casual position with shifts scheduled based on business needs.**
Compensation: $20.53/hour
