About the Role:
The New York Times is looking for a part-time, casual Paperhandler at our Print Plant in College Point, Queens. This facility plays a vital role in producing nine daily newspapers for the New York Metropolitan area and beyond. You will be integral to our mission, working directly under the Deputy Plant Manager. Your training will equip you with the necessary skills to manage various paperhandling tasks, ensuring efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely handle and transport paper rolls for our daily newspapers.
- Work within a Union production setting, adhering to daily deadlines.
- Conduct inventory of paper rolls and prepare them for printing operations.
- Stack paper rolls in compliance with safety standards.
- Operate Paperhandler equipment with utmost care and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness in the paper storage areas.
- Follow all safety guidelines and report any incidents promptly.
