Join our team at MasterBrand Cabinets LLC as a CDL Driver and Load Expediter, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless transportation of our cabinetry products. In this position, you will be responsible for safely moving trailers to facilitate cabinet loading operations, preparing and staging shipments for common carriers, and performing hands-on loading of cabinets into trailers. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a yard truck to relocate, spot, and position trailers at loading docks to support efficient cabinet loading operations.
- Coordinate trailer placements to optimize loading processes.
- Gather, stage, and prepare finished cabinet loads for shipment via common carriers.
- Verify load accuracy using shipping documents, bills of lading, and packing lists.
- Assist in manually loading cabinets into trailers, ensuring all products are secured to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct basic inspections of trailers and equipment before movement (e.g., checking lights, brakes, and doors).
- Adhere to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and warehouse procedures to ensure compliance.
- Maintain effective communication with warehouse personnel, shipping coordinators, and management to guarantee timely shipments.
- Keep a clean and organized yard, dock, and loading area.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse and shipping operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in operating tractors, trailers, and yard equipment safely.
- Capacity to perform physical labor, including lifting, pushing, and pulling cabinets and materials.
- Basic familiarity with shipping documentation and loading procedures.
- Strong safety awareness and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping environment is preferred.
- Experience handling cabinetry, furniture, or large freight loads is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 75 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation).
- Capacity to walk, stand, bend, and climb in and out of trailers throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and outdoor yard environments, including exposure to varying temperatures.
