- Oversee the administration of self-administered medications for residents in the Assisted Living Department, ensuring strict compliance with Federal and State regulations as well as Senior Lifestyle Corporation standards, under the direction of the LPN/LVN/RN and/or the Health and Wellness Director.
- Conduct a thorough count and documentation of all narcotics with authorized personnel before acquiring medication keys. Immediately report any discrepancies to a supervisor.
- Manage the ordering of medications and treatments from the designated pharmacy, and alert responsible parties when supplies drop below a 7-day threshold.
- Notify supervisors when medication supplies are critically low (less than 2 days) and have not been received.
- Receive and verify all medications against pharmacy labels and MARs, promptly reporting any discrepancies to the pharmacy and the Director of Health and Wellness.
- Ensure the proper storage of all medications, maintaining separation between topical and oral medications.
- Label all opened medication vials or bottles with the date of opening and adhere to pharmacy guidelines regarding their usage duration.
- Conduct weekly inspections of all medications to remove any expired items.
- Verify that all current MARs are reconciled with new MARs during changeovers, reporting any differences to a supervisor.
- Remove all discontinued medications from the medication cart and submit them to the supervisor.
- Provide personal care to residents, including but not limited to bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, and assistance with meals.
- Administer general nursing care, including recording vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, and weight.
- Document necessary information in the daily log and communicate any concerns to the supervisor.
- Respond to calls and assist residents with their needs as assigned.
- Perform daily cleaning of medication carts at the end of shifts and restock as necessary.
- Conduct weekly deep cleaning of all medication carts.
- Participate in staff training and in-service education sessions.
- Maintain accurate medical records, preparing charts for new admissions and ensuring completion within forty-eight (48) hours in accordance with Policy and Procedure and regulatory guidelines.
- Hourly Pay Range: $21-$23
