TOMRA is actively seeking a Chief Accountant to join our esteemed office in Senec, Slovakia.
As a pivotal member of the TOMRA Recycling Finance & Administration Team, the Chief Accountant will collaborate with a dedicated team of accountants to meticulously prepare and review the financial records of TOMRA Recycling Slovakia. This role ensures precision and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards. Responsibilities also include interfacing with auditors and tax professionals, analyzing financial data, calculating taxes, supporting both executive and operational teams, and contributing to data analytics and process enhancements. The Chief Accountant will report directly to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the comprehensive accounting agenda through Double-entry bookkeeping in alignment with Slovak accounting standards and regulations.
- Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT and other relevant taxes.
- Issue, verify, and process incoming and outgoing invoices.
- Compile and submit local statistical reports.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and financial assets.
- Record tangible, intangible, and minor assets while ensuring compliance with IFRS and the Slovak Accounting Act.
- Generate financial analyses and detailed reports.
- Prepare necessary financial documentation for audits and statutory financial statements.
- Facilitate month-end and year-end reporting (both statutory and group).
- Collaborate with various internal departments.
- Stay updated on the latest changes in accounting and tax legislation.
- Draft and update internal accounting and tax directives.
