The Providence Public Schools District (PPSD) is actively seeking a dedicated Child Support Assistant to join our vibrant community of educators, students, and stakeholders. This role offers an exciting opportunity for teaching assistants who are looking for a challenging and fulfilling experience.

REPORTS TO: Principal
The Child Support Assistant will report directly to the Principal and collaborate closely under their guidance. This role requires maintaining positive relationships with all staff members within the educational environment and addressing health and hygiene matters as detailed below. The assistant will work in cooperation with other service providers and the School Nurse/Teachers.
IMPORTANT: Ensuring the safety of students is paramount. Therefore, all teacher assistants must be available for bus monitoring assignments and will be compensated for any additional hours worked.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s degree
OR
- 48 college credits
OR
- Passing score of 461 on the ParaPro Test
RIDE Certification Requirements:
- Teacher Assistant Training Program Certificate and
- CNA license
If you do not currently possess the TA certificate, you will need to provide proof of enrollment in a certification program. You may serve as an uncertified substitute teacher assistant for a maximum of 20 school days.
