Position Summary:
The Claims Adjustment & Reconciliation Specialist will act as a subject matter expert in navigating complex preneed claim and transactional adjustment processes. This pivotal role entails the accurate review, reworking, and resolution of specialized claim transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. The Specialist will independently identify and rectify discrepancies, provide peer support, and enhance operational efficiency across various claim-related functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preneed Claim Rework: Review and process adjustments to preneed claims with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Check Reissues: Validate, process, and track reissued claim payments to beneficiaries and policyholders.
- Early Payoff Reversals: Analyze and manage reversals of early payoff transactions, ensuring proper financial reconciliation.
- Initial Premium Returns: Process returned initial premium payments, coordinating with relevant departments for appropriate documentation and refund issuance.
- Suspense Report Management: Monitor and resolve suspense account items based on established timelines and controls.
- Claim System Error Resolution: Investigate, correct, and document system-related errors affecting claim payments or records.
- Money Movement Processing: Facilitate and reconcile fund movements associated with claims, including transfers, adjustments, and refunds.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, streamline processes, and mitigate future errors.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain precise records, documentation, and audit trails for all transactions handled.
- Training & Support: Provide training and mentorship to junior specialists, acting as a resource for complex cases.
