About The Role
We invite applications for a Co-Op position in Materials Process Engineering for Fall 2026 (July - December). This role is designed for proactive individuals eager to develop and standardize processes for a novel feedstock material. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a willingness to take on diverse responsibilities are key attributes for success in this position. Applicants will be encouraged to self-learn and apply new skills while receiving guidance and mentorship throughout their tenure.
Responsibilities:
- Tune process parameters to enhance performance.
- Assist in quality control and process improvement initiatives for scaling production.
- Conduct surface characterization testing and metallographic inspections.
- Perform electron and optical microscopy analyses.
- Support the development and validation of feedstock alloys.
- Develop and execute mechanical testing methodologies.
- Design and implement experiments, including statistical analysis.
- Utilize Alloy’s hardware and software for building sample parts and testing specimens.
- Provide feedback to engineers regarding machine performance.
- Establish automated data collection systems, conducting statistical analyses and reporting on quality metrics.
