Project Initiation and Ongoing Support
- Manage the preparation, negotiation, and finalization of contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors during the initial phases of new projects. Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards as well as compliance with Six Construct's corporate governance policies.
- Identify potential commercial risks tied to construction projects and provide expert guidance to project commercial teams in formulating and executing effective commercial and contractual strategies to mitigate risks while optimizing opportunities.
- Lead procurement efforts for startup projects, including the selection and negotiation of supplier and subcontractor contracts, ensuring alignment with project schedules and budgets in accordance with Six Construct's Project Management Practices and standards.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to facilitate effective project participation as necessary.
- Mentor junior staff members by providing support and direction to enhance performance and nurture a culture of continuous professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal obligations. Prepare and deliver regular commercial reports to senior management in collaboration with the Head of Contract & Commercial Management.
- Offer short-term cover for ongoing projects when needed, requiring familiarity with all projects and their clients to ensure minimal disruption and smooth transitions.
Legacy Project Completion
- Provide expert advice and support for legacy and closing projects to optimize outcomes, including the successful completion of subcontractor and supplier agreements within established budget constraints.
- Negotiate with clients to resolve outstanding matters on legacy projects and major claims/disputes to ensure timely payments and resolution of contractual or commercial issues.
- Assist the Project Close Out Manager with commercial and contractual advice as required.
- Coordinate with senior management and the Head of Contract & Commercial Management to identify and address high-risk issues as early as possible, recommending appropriate resolution strategies.
