QUALIFICATIONSMust reside in the United States.Willingness to travel for the biannual Common App Retreat.Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.3-5 years of relevant experience.Proven track record of creating audience-specific communications (e.g., newsletters, campaign emails, or announcements).Familiarity with email marketing platforms, CRM systems, or digital publishing tools.Collaborative approach with the ability to transform complex concepts into engaging narratives.Advanced writing and narrative development skills: Expertise in audience-centered storytelling with the capacity to translate intricate organizational priorities, higher education policy, or technical updates into clear and motivating narratives.Editorial ownership and strategy refinement: Proficient in managing editorial calendars and ensuring messaging consistency across multiple platforms, aligning all content with the established brand voice and tone.Critical thinking and pattern recognition: Skilled in analyzing engagement metrics and audience feedback to identify communication gaps and propose innovative solutions for content optimization.

We are looking for a Communications Writer to join our forward-thinking team. RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the Communications & Marketing team, reporting directly to the Director of Media & External Affairs, you will craft and deliver compelling, audience-focused messaging to our key stakeholders, including counselors, members, and students. Your responsibilities will include planning, writing, and editing newsletters, announcements, and various communications aimed at informing, engaging, and inspiring our audience. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional storyteller and adept writer, skilled at distilling complex information into clear, accessible, and motivating messages tailored to diverse audiences.
