As a Resident Aide at Byron Center Manor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our senior residents. We seek caring, dependable, and cooperative individuals who are committed to providing exceptional care. Your responsibilities will include supporting residents in their daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their safety and comfort in a nurturing environment. You will work under the supervision of the Neighborhood Manager, assisting residents with personal hygiene, mobility, nourishment, and healthcare needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and follow the communication book, noting any changes in resident care.
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, oral hygiene, and toileting.
- Conduct safety rounds every two hours, concluding with final checks 10 minutes before shift change.
- Ensure doors are secured and alarms are activated as directed.
- Prepare dining areas, assist with meals, and maintain cleanliness post meals.
- Perform cleaning duties for resident bathrooms and other assigned areas during the 3rd shift.
- Respond promptly to call lights to attend to resident needs.
- Engage with residents in daily activities and assist as needed according to the activity calendar.
- Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms and common areas.
- Follow medication administration protocols using the eMAR system QuickMar.
- Adhere to residents’ individual treatment and medication plans.
- Provide concise reports to the incoming shift staff.
- Document all resident care and activities accurately.
- Remain on duty until a proper handover is completed.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate, respectful care.
- Preferred experience in a residential care setting.
- Strong references from previous employers.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Basic proficiency in reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Skill in maintaining accurate logs of activities and services delivered.
- Patience and composure in challenging situations.
- Dependable, compassionate, and service-oriented mindset.
