Join a leading fintech company based in the DIFC as a seasoned Compliance Officer & MLRO. This pivotal role is designated as a DFSA Authorised Individual, where you will spearhead the Compliance and AML/CFT frameworks, driving the business through its exciting growth trajectory.
The ideal candidate is one who has developed and managed compliance structures within DFSA-regulated entities. We are seeking someone who has been integral to regulatory engagement, board reporting, AML governance, and day-to-day oversight within a licensed institution. Your Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance Oversight
- Develop, enhance, and operationalize a compliance framework aligned with DFSA standards.
- Draft, maintain, and enforce internal policies in accordance with DIFC and broader UAE regulations.
- Monitor regulatory updates and assess their implications for business operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of DFSA reports, notifications, and returns.
- Provide strategic compliance advice to senior leadership and the Board, integrating compliance into business decisions.
2. AML / CTF Governance (MLRO Responsibilities)
- Manage all AML/CFT systems, controls, and daily operational processes.
- Serve as the primary contact for the DFSA and FIU concerning AML issues.
- Evaluate suspicious activity reports, determine escalation paths, and file SARs when required.
- Address inquiries from regulators and law enforcement.
- Ensure AML policies comply with the DFSA AML Rulebook and international best practices.
- Continuously evaluate ML/TF and sanctions risks to enhance internal controls.
3. Monitoring & Internal Controls
- Oversee the compliance monitoring plan, including periodic reviews and reporting.
- Document and address incidents or breaches with thorough root-cause analysis.
- Conduct internal audits or thematic reviews, sharing findings and tracking remediation efforts.
- Keep all compliance records ready for inspection.
4. Training & Culture
- Create and deliver ongoing compliance and AML training for all staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability and regulatory awareness across all teams.
- Ensure adherence to CPD, competency standards, and record-keeping.
- Promote a shared responsibility approach to compliance, emphasizing its importance beyond mere formality.
5. Cross-Functional Risk Partnership
- Collaborate with legal, product, operations, and finance teams on risk assessments.
