About Mach Industries
Established in 2022, Mach Industries is an innovative and rapidly expanding defense technology firm dedicated to crafting next-generation autonomous defense platforms. Our mission centers around providing scalable, decentralized defense systems that significantly enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a dynamic team of approximately 220 employees, we operate with the agility and ambition of a startup.
We envision a revolution in warfare through advanced manufacturing, rapid innovation, and an unwavering commitment to national security. Our focus is on developing lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and safeguard global security, addressing the challenges of modern warfare head-on.
The Role
We are on the lookout for a talented Composites Design Engineer to assist in the design, analysis, and testing of composite structures tailored for our cutting-edge autonomous vehicles. At Mach, we are committed to building platforms that sustain the allied American advantage. As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in developing lightweight, high-performance composite airframe structures that align with the demands of contemporary defense technology. Your responsibilities will include designing composite components, conducting structural analyses, facilitating hands-on fabrication and testing, and innovating solutions optimized for both performance and scalable, high-volume production.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop composite structures for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ensuring lightweight, high-performance airframe solutions from initial concept through flight testing.
Take ownership of composite components throughout the entire development cycle, including laminate design, structural analysis, fabrication support, and validation testing.
Conduct structural analyses utilizing hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess stiffness, strength, stability, and failure modes.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing and testing teams to translate designs into practical hardware while validating performance through robust testing.
Engage in hands-on fabrication and integration of prototype composite hardware.
Assist in the planning and execution of structural tests, correlating analytical predictions with physical test results.
Develop laminate architectures, joints, and structural concepts that are not only high-performing but also ensure repeatability and scalability in high-volume production.
