The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee TI projects valued between $2M and $10M. This pivotal role entails managing projects from inception to completion, collaborating closely with site teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure seamless execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Initialization & Administration: Issue contracts, oversee insurance and bonds, manage WCB notifications, and finalize project setup documentation.
- Financial Oversight: Control budgets, implement cost codes, handle change orders, manage schedules, and produce financial reports utilizing Timberline and Microsoft tools.
- Coordination with Subcontractors & Suppliers: Source, manage, and communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers while proactively addressing issues as they arise.
- Collaboration with Site Superintendents: Partner with Site Superintendents to deliver projects that meet high-quality standards and are completed on time and within budget.
- Client & Consultant Engagement: Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, and consultants, maintaining professionalism in managing project issues.
- Invoicing & Progress Reporting: Prepare monthly progress claims and review/approve invoices from subcontractors and suppliers.
Experience & Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in commercial construction, ideally in a Project Manager or Site Superintendent role.
- In-depth understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and TI project execution.
- Post-secondary education or technical certification in construction or a related field (e.g., BCIT).
- Proficiency in modern construction management software (experience with Procore is a plus).
- A valid driver's license and capacity to travel to project sites throughout the Lower Mainland (occasional travel within BC).
