Job Title: Controller for a Leading SaaS Company
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to lead our financial operations at onlyexperts, a premier SaaS company. This pivotal role involves managing all accounting functions, upholding the accuracy of financial data, and contributing to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with substantial experience in the SaaS sector, combining expertise from both large accounting firms and in-house roles. With a minimum of 12 years of progressive accounting experience, the successful applicant will be adept at steering a finance team, overseeing intricate financial processes, and shaping financial strategies in a rapidly evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Supervise the preparation and accuracy of all financial statements, ensuring adherence to US GAAP, regulatory standards, and internal policies.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to guarantee timely and precise reporting.
- Manage the annual audit process, collaborating with external auditors and ensuring compliance with all required reporting standards.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Create and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models to facilitate business planning and decision-making.
- Examine financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- SaaS-Specific Financial Management:
- Oversee and optimize essential SaaS metrics, including ARR, MRR, churn rates, LTV, CAC, and customer retention costs.
- Ensure proper revenue recognition processes are followed in compliance with ASC 606 and relevant standards.
- Implement and maintain systems for managing deferred revenue, renewals, and billing cycles.
- Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational demands.
- Formulate strategies to enhance working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.
- Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
- Design and enforce effective internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the reliability of financial reporting.
- Continuously assess and refine accounting processes and systems for improved efficiency and accuracy.
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, Sales, and IT, to support business initiatives and enhance financial performance.
- Strategic Financial Planning:
- Work closely with executive management to develop and implement long-term financial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives.
